Can you give the data to where you found that the LBMA's own data says they have 1B oz of gold and 800M of it is encumbered? I cannot find numbers anywhere close to this figure.
Looking back it appears i miscalculated, LBMA has 8,535 tonnes which is 274,432,000 troy ounces and the BoE has 279,000,000 troy ounces, so in total around 553M troy ounces of gold.
Where is the source claiming GLD restricted short selling in Jan 2025?
I got that from Ronan Manly on Twitter in early February, who is a gold trader and writer.

Apologies for the misquoted number, again I should have double checked the math.
80% is claimed leaving 20% unclaimed. I got this figure (which is an estimate) from Erik Yeoung on Twitter as well, per a post in early february
Thank you sir, love the content
